In December we reported on the latest figures from Japanese industry body the RIAJ, which showed year-on-year growth of 19% in subscription audio streaming revenues. Music rightsholders have been encouraging streaming services to raise the price of their subscriptions in recent times, and several have done so – although these rises tend to be staggered across the world. That means rises of 10.2%, 20.8% and 13.5% for those plans on a monthly basis respectively.Īmazon had already raised the price of Music Unlimited subscriptions for Prime members last April. Japan has been one of Amazon’s focus markets for its music business, so here’s some interesting news: it is raising the price of its Amazon Music Unlimited service there.įrom 21 February, the monthly subscription price for non-Prime members will rise from ¥980 to ¥1,080 (around $8.29), with corresponding rises for its student plan (from ¥480 to ¥580) and family plan (from ¥1,480 to ¥1,680 if paid monthly, and ¥14.8k to ¥16.8k if paid annually). Click Cancel Subscription next to Amazon Music Unlimited. From the pop-up menu that appears, click Memberships & Subscriptions. Move your mouse over the Account & Lists button in the top right corner. Tags: Amazon Amazon Music Japan Top Stories Open the web browser on your computer and go to.
